Floating Kitchen Shelves

I’ve done floating shelves in a couple kitchens. These shelves are all made from solid hardwood (some cabinet shops do a hollow box, which works fine, but definitely has a different feel). The shelves are supported by steel brackets attached to studs, and all mounting hardware is hidden by recesses in the back of the shelf.
