White Oak Kitchen Island w/ Marble Top
This island was designed by Nooks Robinson for a residence in Centennial, CO. The base was constructed from rift sawn white oak, with a couple pieces of 1/2” stainless steel rod. The structure attaches to the rim joist around the staircase, continues up, over a glass railing, across the length of the island, then down to the floor. The grain waterfalls over the miters on the stair side. The marble wraps from the top and down the side, where 6” of white oak connects it to the floor.
*Note, the posts supporting the glass are temporary, and hopefully that large patch of blue tape will go away when the finished posts are installed.
